Biography

Michelle R. Clark, Esq., the owner of the Law Office of Michelle R. Clark, LLC is a native of Dayton, Ohio; After receiving her high school diploma, she relocated to the Great Northwest where she attended the University of Puget Sound.  She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration in 1985.  After serving as an administrator for the Disability Law Project, she decided to pursue her long held dream of practicing law.  From 1990 - 1993, she worked full time for the state of Washington, cared for her young son, Marcus, as a single mother and attended law school.  In December 1993, she received her juris doctorate from Seattle University School of Law.  Attorney Clark’s tenacity speaks for itself as she completed her first year of law school at the top of her class resulting in her successfully competing for and being selected as the very first recipient of the Davis Wright Tremaine Minority Scholarship.   While in law school, she was awarded the Thurgood Marshall Award,for Best Petitioner’s Brief, Western Region and the Charles Hamilton Western Regional  Moot Court Award for her advocacy skills.  She participated in the 16th Annual National Frederick Douglass Moot Competition held in Harlem, New York.  She was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Puget Sound Inn of Court.   Although she remained actively involved in law school, Michelle Clark also worked as a Program Administrator in Olympia, Washington where she implemented the State of Washington’s Early Child Education and Assistance Program.  Attorney Clark remembers many, many, many sleepless nights managing her young son, work and law school.

In 1995, she was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association.   She also worked in Olympia, Washington as a Senior Policy Analyst to the Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development.  She was slated to clerk for the Washington Court of Appeals but her dedication to policy work for then Governor _____ caused her to remain in Olympia, Washington to develop and implement the state’s Youth Violence Prevention and Intervention Program; Drug Prevention, Intervention and Interdiction Programs, including the Safe Schools program.  However, her desire to practice law could not be diminished; thus, in 1995, she began her legal career as an Assistant Prosecutor for the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office in Tacoma, Washington. In 1995 while making a major career transition from government to the practice of law, she traveled to Atlanta, Georgia during the Olympics and fell in love with it’s beauty, people and culture. She moved to the metro Atlanta region and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1997.  She began her legal career in Georgia as an associate attorney for a law firm in Norcross, Georgia where she practiced civil and domestic law.  

Balancing her career, and family life, Attorney Clark moved to Henry County, Georgia where she married and raised her three children.  She opened the Law Office of Michelle R. Clark, LLC in Henry County, Georgia in March 2000.  

Some areas that she specializes in include, but are not limited to criminal cases, DUI, drugs, theft, murder, family violence, traffic violations, divorce, custody, child support, automobile accidents, and personal injuries. Attorney Clark has received her Juris Doctor from the Seattle University School of Law in 1993. Then, she has been admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1995 and to the State Bar of Georgia in 1997.

Some of her work experience includes being an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Pierce County, Washington from 1995-1996, as well as working for the State of Georgia as a Special Assistant Attorney General, representing the Henry County DFACS in 2004. 

She is also a member of the following organizations: Henry County Bar Association, Georgia Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers, and the American Bar Association.
